Strident Publishing and Librario Publishing have agreed to integrate their lists as Librario’s Mark Lawson retires from trade publishing.

The deal is expected to give Librario’s authors of fiction and non-fiction titles greater exposure in the UK and overseas.

Strident publishes children’s, YA and adult titles, many of which are award-winning or have been short-listed/long-listed; Librario’s list includes both fiction and non-fiction.

Strident’s publisher, Keith Charters, said, ‘There is a good fit between our lists and we share the same distributor, BookSource. That will enable a smooth integration and, in due course, we hope to use our network to extend the reach of Librario’s titles, to the benefit of the authors. Mark’s commitment and knowledge are evident in the books he’s published. It’s why we’ve often found ourselves engrossed in books we’re only meant to have been casting an eye over.’

Librario’s Mark Lawson, said, ‘Strident is a natural new home for our titles and authors. We share a similar passion for quality editing. I’m sure some new editions will emerge as a result of this initiative and I’m very much looking forward to seeing those.’
